Jon Hird's JDM Integra Type-R (DC2)

03/02/2011
Some of you might remember it from the CSW/KK days when Blowsy had it.
It was a fresh import in '07 and he was the first owner. We got to be pretty good mates and this was the first honda I ever drove, this is the car that started it all off for me.
I remember wanting this SO BAD when he sold the thing, but 6/7k back then was crazy money for me!

Here's how it looked back in the day
!
The car now has 85k on the clocks, but 60k of that was in km's, so it's well low and it shows.
The crossover noise is mad especially with the top fuel kit induction kit fitted :D
The plan is...
Short term, drive it, love it.
- fit 300mm front brake conversion and 260mm rears.
Long term - fit the stock kit
- buy and fit 16" SW98 rims.
I know the kits dated as hell, but it's the car I fell in love with.
Under the fibreglass it's a perfect one with lots of nice bits already done.
I'm really pleased with it, feels good to be back in a teg :).

I have done a few more odds and sods. I am trying to get a front bumper/lip/grille at
the moment then I can start putting the bodywork back to stock.
All-red rear lights, parked up with the B18C del sol which I swapped for this
car.

Gave the bay a quick clean and painted the cover quickly.

Removed sunstrip.

Temporary momo wheel so I can sell the richbrook one.. must say, i bought this wheel in a set of 4 for £5 lol, but it's amazingly nice to drive with, its size is comedy it's so small but it fits my hands really nice.

I also tweaked the ride height and cleaned up the lips on the rims, also repainted the centres, i dont
like them but they'll have to be sold so..

And that's that for now...

"Energy Suspension" transmission bushings were fitted because mine weren't the best
!

Right well I've had 2 flat tyres, so I've just had to go and buy 2 18" tyres for a set of wheels that i hate and don't want, so work's been slow for the last few days on this :(
However, in about an hour I'm off to go and pick up the stock skirts and rear bumper :D
Regarding the front bumper - I've located one, just sorting out a deal on it and arranging collection etc.
I might put the skirts and rear on tomorrow if I get time.

I took the old bumper off to check all the brackets and mounts were still there for an oem bumper, they are
but I knocked up some new mounts to hold the current bumper on a bit better as it was all loose and saggy, it actually looks a lot better just for being held on tighter without gaps everywhere
!

Also, a package arrived today from Funky Power, my new energy suspension engine mounts inserts, I had a set of these in my last teg and they were so so good, seriously can't wait to fit these, never ever has a modification made such a difference to a car in my eyes as when
I fitted my last set!
Hoping to have the stock bodykit fitted and MAYBE even (at a push) stock wheels in time for japfest!
Oh, also, I have a 262mm rear disc conversion to fit at the weekend, and 282mm fronts :)
Finding MG ZS180 rear brake carriers was a nightmare!

Hello sexy :)

My sweet new wheel for today. lol
20/04/2011

There are no pics of the front as I still need a grille and a lip.
The new wheels should be here saturday or next week from the lads at
Tegiwa Imports, along with a grille. I am considering changing back to a stock bonnet on it too, not loving the
carbon fibre one too much to be honest. I'm also going to order the stock sticker kit to go back on the quarters and the rear infill panel too.
I'm hoping to get hold of some OEM lights for the rear soon also, and I'm
fitting a Honda badge on the boot again (It's been smoothed, but I prefer them with a badge)

Carbon is gay !!! So back to the OEM bonnet :) Much better !

Just liked this pic.

I changed my mounts today, out of the 5 only one was properly secured to the car, one should have 3 bolts and actually had 1.
Luckily I have a pot of honda nuts and bolts spare from previous bits and bobs so they were all replaced and the inserts fitted. These ones are very hard... harder than the last one. There's no engine movement and it does vibrate quite a lot on idle but oh well
!.

Hmm... It looks like an Integra Type-R again !

All standard :)

Today my friend Andy and I fitted my big brakes ready for
Japfest next weekend. It's going
to take a beating on the track and the 262mm setup was awful and were wearing unevenly, so
I changed fronts and rears whilst we were at it.

The bigger rears look so much better behind the wheels regardless of any
performance gains !
They are 282mm "civic MB6" 1.8 VTi front discs, calipers, and carriers, and 262mm MB6 rear discs and calipers with MG ZS180 carriers to bolt up to the ITR rear trailing arms.
The "Civic MB6" carriers have a different spacing between the bolts to the
trailing arms. You can use "Civic EK9" or "98 spec" Integra DC2 items instead.

The front calipers were shaved to clear the spokes.

The gap. I tried to put a 10p in there to show it but it wouldnt fit ! lol. A leaf
did the job...

We have some super strength wheel cleaner at work so I thought I'd have a go,
they came up a million times better. I
painted my brakes and dust guards whilst I was at it too.

I am hoping my 12x6 front number plate comes tomorrow too.
Jonnay :)
